Our Story

The first Lady Marmalade opened its doors in Victoria in 2005. Originally from Toronto, Carla Cherry & her brother, David Cherry, opened up the little brunch joint & worked hard to make it a Victoria staple. Lady Marmalade quickly became famous for their delicious eggs benny and tasty Mexican dishes.

In 2008, David moved back to Toronto with his wife Natalia Simachkevitch, while Carla stayed at the helm of Lady Marmalade in Victoria. David & Natalia scoured the city for the perfect location & a second Lady Marmalade opened in July 2009 in lovely Leslieville. David cooked, Natalia served. Now we do a bit of everything and you'll often see us around the restaurant & the neighbourhood.

In 2015, Lady Marmalade Victoria closed it's doors. After over 20 years in the restaurant industry Carla was ready for a break. From now on all Lady Marmalade cravings will have to be satisfied in Toronto.

Thank you for your continued patronage,

David & Natalia
